Douglas Jennings Jr. graduated from Clemson University in 1978 where he received the Wofford B. Camp Award from the Blue Key National Honor Fraternity before graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was charter President of the Student Chapter of South Carolina Association for Justice before graduating in 1982.
During his college and law school years, Mr. Jennings served as a Research Assistant to the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee in Columbia, and as a Legislative Assistant on the House Appropriations Committee in Washington D.C. for a former Congressman.
In 1982, Mr. Jennings began practicing law full time as a prosecuting criminal attorney before founding the Douglas Jennings Law Firm, LLC in 1984. He is admitted to practice law in the State of South Carolina, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Federal District Court for South Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Jennings’ legal representation focuses on the practice areas of criminal law, including parole board hearings. He also represents personal injury victims and those injured in motor vehicle accidents, as well as families who have lost loved ones in wrongful death cases.
His firm dedicates 75% of their efforts to litigation cases, which can include condemnation/eminent domain cases, civil litigation and appeals, and workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Jennings was named by the South Carolina Supreme Court Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution as a Certified Circuit Court Mediator. He is a member of the South Carolina State Bar, the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.
Serving the public’s interests in law and in his community, he is a member of the State Board of Trustees for AMI Kids, and represents the 4th Judicial Circuit on the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates while serving on the Late Paul Wallace Authority Board as Chairman.
