J Olin McDougall II was born in Columbia, in South Carolina and was brought up in Sumter. He did his bachelors in English from Wake Forest in the year 1991. He completed his law degree in 1994 from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law.
He was an extremely vigilant and active student and apart from his ongoing studies he also chose various other subjects which included a survey of International legal issues.
During his studies he also worked part time with Furr and Henshaw who dealt with Medical Malpractice. Here he also gained knowledge regarding extreme injury and Defective Products cases.
After his graduation he worked for over a year with Henry F. Floyd and then joined private practice with McDougall and Self as an associate. The company tackled cases in Family courts in South Carolina.
Then he finally moved to South Carolina, Beaufort where he developed what we today know as McDougall Law Firm in the year 2007. At first it was also known as Daugs, Tedder, Newman & McDougall.
At first he used to deal various kinds of cases but after developing his law firm his practice was limited to Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect, Medical Malpractice, Insurance Claims and Litigation, Premises Liability, Defective and Dangerous Products, Boating and Water Accidents and School and Education Litigation.
